The art students at VCS celebrated Earth Day by presenting an Earth Day Art Show with projects made from recyclable materials. Here are some of their amazing creations.


The Grade 7's desgined Endangered Species Posters to educate the community about animals on the endangered species list.

1930's Theme Week

As part of this year's Middle School Theme Week the student's studied Pablo Picasso's famous painting Guernica that documents the bombing of the Spanish town during the Spanish Civil War. Their art creations explain the symbolism behind the images.

Grade 8 Final Painting Projects

The Grade 8's did a terrific job on their final painting project in which they had to translate the work of a famous artist to a 3-D surface. Some of the artist's who served as inspiration include Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Roy Lichtenstein, and Katsushika Hokusai.

Happy New Year!

January was an eventful and productive month!

The Grade 7's completed their Calder inspired Mobiles. They truly are beauty in motion!










The Grade 8's created torn paper self-portraits in a mosaic style.



The Grade 5's had fun with Pop Art, painting Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Prestley.



The Grade 6's painted banners to illustrate the UN Rights of the Child after studying Pablo Picasso's "Guernica".




I say goodbye to 6N this month as they go on to Band. I will miss them and wish them well. They are a great bunch!
