November's Final Projects

November has brought us to the end of term 1! You can see by the final projects students had a very successful first term.

October Skies

October is a month filled with beautiful skies; gorgeous sunsets and clear starry nights. I love the fall and the grade 5's captured God's awesome creation in two spectacular projects this month!

The Grade 6's tried their hand at Chinese Brush Painting!

The Grade 7's created intricate texture collages from painted paper.

The Grade 8's drew detailed portraits. Some of them were even of themsleves!

Fall Creations

September has been a great month. The Grade 7's considered how the Elements of Design can be found in God's creation. For example, the intricate lines in our fingerprints. They created bold hand banners using what they learned about line.

The Grade 6's studied the work of artist Cory Trepanier and created pastel extreme environments. View the trailer for his film at his website.

Classes also helped Kim, the artist in residence, with the school mural. We were happy to have quite a few sunny days this month!

Fine Arts Festival 2010

It was a joy to help co-ordinate the Fine Arts Festival in December 2010. Here are some of the fantastic projects students created to fit with our theme "Art from Around the World".

Weclome Back!

It is great to be back at VCS for my second year as the Middle School Art Specialist. Last year was an amazing first year filled with terrific students producing awesome art. Enjoy some of last years projects and keep posted for the incredible work students will create this year.
